Azure Database Migration Service

General availability (GA) of the Azure Database Migration Service was announced recently at the Microsoft Build Conference. Azure Database Migration Service reduces the complexity of cloud migrations by using a single, comprehensive service that supports migrations of homogeneous/heterogeneous source-target pairs. The guided migration process is easy to understand and implement.

The GA release of Azure Database Migration Service supports the following one-time migration scenarios:

  • SQL Server to Azure SQL Database
  • SQL Server to Azure SQL Database Managed Instance (in public preview)
